Now recruiting for ski season staff in Courchevel
With the 2010-11 ski season fast approaching Evasion Travel is looking for new staff to help us out with our expanding operation in Courchevel Le Praz.
With the new catered Chalet La Duy and self catered Apartment Grand Cerf on the books this year, plus our new Courchevel Airport Transfers service we’re going to be busy and need to find just the people to join our little band…
We need;
1. A chalet host. This involves lots of cooking and cleaning but there is much more to the job than this. At Evasion our chalet hosts need to be able to really interact with their clients, both in the chalets and on the mountain. We make sure that this is possible by giving them the training and ongoing support that they need to run a smooth ship.
2. A resort facilitator. ‘A resort what?’ we hear you cry… We need some extra hands to help us to get the job done in Courchevel as well as to help us with some aspects of our summer holidays in the Ardèche. If ever there was a winter job for a self-starter and team player then this is it. This person needs to be capable of turning their hands to most things from maintenance to serving dinners, driving to liaising with local suppliers. We don’t expect to find an expert in all things and as always, a mature outlook and willingness to learn is more important than a PhD in scrambled eggs! Its a winter job so cooking, cleaning and driving will all be involved. Other useful skills (not a definitive list!) include general handyman (woman?) ability, IT, writing copy and marketing, liaising with suppliers, problem solving and ordering stock. French speaking would be a bonus.
Working for Evasion should be two things: hard and rewarding. We won’t take people who are not mature, socially confident and able to think on their feet. We don’t believe in babying our staff but we do believe that they should be well supported with the tools and resources that they need to do their jobs to the highest standards.
The demands on our staff to think for themselves and to come up with practical solutions to everyday problems are great however they always have somebody to fall back on (don’t worry – we won’t leave you out there on your own!). In having total responsibility for their chalets, vehicles and clients they have true ownership of the product that they are delivering and that’s what we believe makes them enjoy their work so much. It’s also the thing that makes a good holiday great.
Out of work we make there very most of where we are – heading up onto the mountain or off on exciting trips whenever we can. Last winter all of our skiers learned to snowboard (and vice versa), we climbed mountains, hiked across snowfields, skied to Italy, went indoor climbing and ice climbing, went to gigs, visited other resorts, ate lots of nice mountain lunches and picnics, learned to cross country ski and snow shoe, tried the luge and much more. To cap it all off we then cycled back to our summer base in the Ardèche. Oh, we also had a night or two in the pub. We are hoping that this winter will hold even more adventures!
So, if you think that you would fit in to our little team then drop the boss a line at adam@evasiontravel.co.uk and tell him why.
