The Ardèche is in the south of France between the central mountains and the river Rhone, just north of the Mediterranean. We are in the south of the department near to the town of Vallon Pont d’Arc. Nearby cities with high speed rail terminals or international airports are Nimes (1hr), Avignon (1 hr), Montpellier (1.5 hrs), Lyon (2hr), Marseille (2hr) and Beziers (2hr). (driving times).

From the North
Take the A7 when travelling south to the Ardeche.
Exit the A7 at junction 18 (Montelimar Sud).
Head to Pierrelatte.
At Pierrelatte follow signs to Bourg St Andeol.
At Bourg St Andeol follow signs to St Remeze.
Go through St Remeze taking signs to Vallon Pont d’Arc.
Follow signs to Ruoms (D579).
6km (4 miles) towards Ruoms take the 2nd exit at the roundabout towards Ales (D111).
After 4km (3 miles) enter the village of Grospierres (La Gare).
Take the right towards St Alban Auriolles (D246).
Cross the thin bridge and go right at the T junction.
After 1.5km (1 mile) go through the village of St Alban Auriolles. The hotel Le Douce France is on the right as you leave the village.
From the South
Take the A7 to the ‘Nimes Ouest’ exit (no. 25) towards Ales.
Drive to Ales on the N106.
At the end of this road at Ales there is a roundabout. Go right on to the N60.
Go straight over the next 6 roundabouts.
At the 7th Roundabout turn right towards Aubenas on the D904.
This road becomes the D104 as you enter the Ardeche. keep following signs to Aubenas.
After you cross the Chassezac river (40km/28 miles after leaving Ales) take the right on the D208.
After 7km (4 miles) go through the village of St Alban Auriolles. The hotel Le Douce France is on the right as you leave the village.
