A gripping journey through the rugged heart of the Ardèche Gorge national park.

Duration: 3 nights

Level of experience required: Participants should be capable of walking14-18km/day (9-12 miles) on rough terrain. Sure footedness and a head for heights are essential.

Day 1

Arrival and orientation.

We collect you from Nimes or Avignon and whisk you up to our hotel in time for an evening stroll before dinner.

Day 2

The first day of the gorge walk

From the hotel we head over up onto the plateau for our first glimpses of the iconic Ardèche gorge.  The walk takes us into the heart of the canyon where clients can choose to walk out (hotel option) or to camp for the night in the National Park. (Equipment provided).

Day 3

The second day of the gorge walk

Starting where we finished yesterday we travel through the most remote part of the gorge with huge walls of limestone on either side and fascinating terrain. We end at the town of St Martin for well earned drinks and swimming.

Day 4

Departure day

Time permitting we use this day as an opportunity to stop in a sites such as the famous Roman aqueduct at Pont du Gard, taking a short walk up to viewpoints above this incredible piece of history.
