Scenic walks and stunning sights.
Level of experience required: Participants should be capable of walking 6-10km/day (4-7 miles) on paths.

Itinerary:
Day 1
Arrival and orientation.
We collect you from the airport/train station and whisk you up to our hotel in time for an evening stroll around the village before dinner.
Day 2
Vallon and the vineyards
An easy stroll on back roads and country paths to the town of Vallon Pont d’Arc through vineyards and ancient farmsteads. Lunch in the town followed by a trip by mini bus to the Pont d’Arc itself, a 40m high natural limestone arch that straddles the mighty river.
Day 3

Les Crottes and the Gorge
Today we visit the French resistance memorial at Hameau des Crottes before taking quiet, shady trails out to the edge of the gorge and panoramic viewpoints. Optional afternoon walk down to the river in the bottom of the gorge.
Day 4
The gorge National Park
In the morning we descend into majestic gorge to hike along the river’s edge with the high limestone cliffs towering above. Plenty of time for riverside stops and time to admire the scenery. The afternoon spent in local villages, riverside beaches and has an optional vineyard visit.
Day 5

Free Day
You may wish to use today to finish that book by the pool and take a long lunch but if you are still in need of adventure then there is canoeing and cycling as well as high-octane climbing and ropes courses!
Day 6
Ridges and Les Vans
This route winds its way up the side of a steep valley, through charming farms and hamlets and out onto the ridge above the town of Les Vans far below. Of course, we have to get to the town before we can have a well earned drink at the bar!
Day 7
Barjac and the caves

Starting with a tour of the bustling market we stock up on some local delicacies and head into the forest for a picnic at the mouth of a cave. In the afternoon there is a botanical walk or an opportunity to take a tour of the huge caverns at Aven d’Orgnac.
Day 8
Departure
Time permitting we use this day as an opportunity to stop in a sites such as the famous Roman aqueduct at Pont du Gard, taking a short walk up to viewpoints above this incredible piece of history.
