Another tough one!! The weather toyed with us all day today. Having woken to blue skies this morning we had high hopes that the forecast rain might pass us by.
A lovely first descent through the gorges of the Vercors was punctuated (literally) by jim’s record breaking 4 punctures due to a tear in his tyre. Jim now holds two unwanted records. The first is for the punctures. The other is for the amount of money spent on kit that has been wrecked on this trip. 4 tubes, one tyre and a pair of shorts following his stack on day 1. See the repairs in in the gorge below.

Jim is off to the cycle shop for a million energy bars, Annabel took a lesson in hydration and Adam’s knee is feeling decidedly wobbly – we must nearly be ready to start the Alps to Ardeche road cycle trip!
The last 10 days or so have seen a flurry of activity as the snow has finally released its icy grip on Courchevel and we have all realised that we’ve nearly run out of training time. Still, with some outstanding ski touring and spring climbing conditions we’re a bit embarrassed to announce that non-Alps-to-Ardeche-participant Matt has probably done more miles on his bike than anyone… Click here to read more »
